Mr. Castenfelt is a former New York and London based investment banker and former President of an international Institutional Investment Group. By way of work in the early stages of the Ecofisk Field in the North Sea he first became engaged in the undersea cable industry in the mid-1970s. He has also been a board member of the holding company for one of the world’s premier undersea cable operators. Mr. Castenfelt has three decades of pro bono experience in the field of international affairs. He holds a degree in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Castenfelt is a Swedish Citizen residing in London.
Mr. Rauscher is a Bell Labs Fellow, cited for his achievements in ultra-high reliability and ultra-high security for communications infrastructure. He has been active in the communications industry for over 35 years and has advised governments and industry associations on five continents. From 2005-07 Mr. Rauscher was Vice Chairman of President Bush's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) Industry Executive Committee. Mr. Rauscher holds degrees with high distinction in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and Rutgers University.
Mr. Rauscher is a U.S. Citizen residing in the Greater New York City area.
Messrs. Castenfelt and Rauscher have collaborated together within their past affiliation with the since 2019-dissolved EastWest Institute and also outside it, on issues of international cybersecurity, on reports on undersea cables, and on related economic and policy issues since 2009. This endeavor has included exchanges on cyberspace and undersea cable issues with a number of governments and private companies worldwide both at policy and operating levels.
